Media Center Packの憂鬱
ライフサイクル観点からもWindows 8.1で充分という事がわかったので、まずは最も低消費電力なIntel NUC DN2820FYKHにメディアストリーミングReadyなWindows 8.1 Pro with Media Centerを入れて、X200は温存する方向でトライ。

しかし、DN2820FYKHに「Windows 8.1 Pro」は入れられるものの、Windows Media Center機能が入れられない。正確に言うと「ライセンスキーが手に入らない」。
ちょっと調べるとあちこちに
オンラインまたはお近くの販売店にて購入できる Windows 8.1 Pro Pack で、Windows 8.1 から Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center にアップグレードできます。と書いてあるにも関わらず、公式オンラインショップにもAmazonにも扱っている気配がない。Windows 8.1 Pro Pack と Windows 8.1 の Media Center Pack についてというページや、Windows Media Centerの概要の"Media Center Pack"という文言も見当たらないので、よくよく調べると

Previously purchased feature pack licenses will still work, and valid feature packs may still be available for purchase from third-party retailers. Support for these products is still available.というエントリから、2015年10月30日にPro PackとMedia Packが販売終了となった事がわかった。
